About the Committee

The Human-Wildlife Conflict Management Committee is a multi-stakeholder body established to coordinate response efforts, review conflict trends, verify reported cases, and provide strategic recommendations to the Government of Nepal for improving human-wildlife conflict management systems. It serves as an advisory and coordination platform that brings together technical expertise, institutional oversight, and policy input to strengthen prevention, response, and compensation processes across affected areas.

The committee's core purpose is to study the nature and frequency of human-wildlife conflict, assess gaps in existing mechanisms, and advise relevant government agencies on practical and evidence-based measures for more effective implementation. Rather than directly executing all interventions, the committee supports informed decision-making through analysis, coordination, review, and recommendations related to response protocols, mitigation planning, and institutional strengthening.
